Introduction
First Aid at Work is intended to cover situations arising in industry, in particular for the large company or those operating in a more hazardous environment. It is suitable for larger companies, offices with 50 or more employees, engineering companies with more than 20 employees and high-risk employment with more than 5 employees.
Aim
This First Aid at Work Certificate covers primary and secondary care and the treatment and management of medical emergencies in the work place. This is a very informative course and students will enjoy taking part in active exercises, which simulate emergency situations.
Participants
Candidates must be 16 years or older at the start of the course
Objectives
- By the end of the course participants will be able to:
- The course will give you the knowledge and confidence to deal with a first aid emergency in the workplace.
- Participants gain a thorough knowledge of first aid techniques ranging from CPR to dealing with blood loss and shock. It enables them to deal with any incident in their workplace.
- If you work in a high risk sector such as construction or manufacturing, if you work in a large office, or if you want a thorough grounding in first aid, then this is the course for you.

Style
The course involves practical and theoretical sessions. Handouts will be issued highlighting areas of particular importance

The course lasts for three days.
Note
Candidates are advised to dress casually and ladies must wear trousers. A notebook and pen will be required
