Appointed Person

Introduction
Emergency First Aid for the Appointed Person is intended to provide basic first aid for any employee. It will provide the necessary qualification to support the dedicated First Aider or act as the Appointed Person in the workplace.

Aim
The appointed person course satisfies the recommendations of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981 for Emergency First Aid Training. A certificate is awarded which is valid for three years from the date of issue.

Participants
Candidates must be 16 years or older at the start of the course

Objectives
By the end of the course participants will be able to:


  • Know what to do in an emergency  
  • Provide CPR  
  • Provide First Aid for the unconscious casualty  
  • Provide First Aid for the wounded or bleeding  
  • Know how to use First Aid equipment

Content

  • Management of emergency situations  
  • Resuscitation  
  • Choking  
  • Recovery position  
  • Control of severe bleeding  
  • Common medical emergencies  
  • First Aid boxes and recording incidents
     

Style
The course requires involvement in both theory and practical sessions

Duration
The course lasts for one day

Note
For the practical sessions, ladies are advised to wear trousers; all candidates should wear casual dress.

Delivered on demand at client's venue
09.30 - 16.30 or times to suit

In-House delivery
Our in-house course fee is £950 + VAT for up to 12 candidates. We will agree any other charges (room hire, trainer's travel costs, catering etc) with you before you make your booking.
