Leadership and Management for Care Services NVQ4 (LMCS)

Leadership and Management for Care Services NVQ4
A management NVQ acknowledges a person's existing level of skill, knowledge and experience where the opportunity of gaining other qualifications are not available or desired. Candidates must be able to obtain evidence from their workplace to match the NVQ performance criteria.

The Ability LMCS is probably the best LMCS course you will find. It is, of course, assessed against the same NVQ standards as all others. The Chartered Management Institute, the leading body in Britain for professional managers, will award your certificate. Ability delivers this programme across the country to large and small organisations.

Your tutor will be a director of Ability who has considerable experience in training managers in the care industry. Ability were one of the first providers to provide the original Registered Managers Award in 2002 but Ability had been working with the NHS and the care sector for many years before that.

This programme is unique because it is built around you the manager and has as it's primary objective the aim of helping you to do a better job as a manager and show improvements in the performance of your organisation

Programme structure:
Five half-day workshops each dealing with a different management topic. Workshops are interactive group sessions.
Written assignments related to your area of work. These are your opportunity to develop improvements at work with support and guidance from your tutor.

You will be observed and assessed in your own place of work. This mandatory requirement is also an opportunity for your tutor to provide additional advice and coaching directly in the workplace.

Throughout this process your tutor will teach, coach and advise you in management techniques to develop your skills and confidence as a manager.

The duration of the programme is no more than six months, but is full of relevant content and contains virtually no routine NVQ content such as portfolio building.
