Introduction:
The job of a manager is to achieve results through the efforts of other people. But sometimes your staff don't seem to produce the performance that you know they should be capable of. Just telling them to do better is not effective. The solution is often to coach them to improved performance. This course describes a proven and effective model of the coaching process which allows the manager to follow a structured approach to developing their staff.

- Coaching what it is and what it isn't.
- Using communication to build and develop the relationship with your staff.
- Identifying opportunities for coaching.
- A structured approach to developing and motivating staff using coaching.
- The impact of effective communication on the practice of coaching.
- Setting effective goals.
- Giving feedback that helps.
- Practicing the skills.
- Planning for the return to work.
Style:
This course is highly participative. Participants will practice the skills with a variety of practical exercises and role plays.

This course lasts for one day

Participants should be able to support individuals and groups in developing and implementing strategies to achieve their objectives based around their individual roles in the organization.
